Amber

I'm Amber Ross. I grew up on a 23 acre farm in Texas and have always had a deep love for animals. I started showing animals when I was 12 years old in 4-H & FFA. I have bred, owned, and shown many animal in my life including horses, cattle, sheep, and  rabbits. My previous last name was Schireman and you may see some of my dogs or dog related records in that last name. The dogs are my hobby and my stress relief. I work full time as a registered nurse. I have a wonderful son, Alex who is 10 years old and enjoys showing dogs with us.  My family includes six wonderful nieces, three of whom Emily, Ashlyn, and Madison who show with us. Our dogs are our passion and showing them is a family affair.

Ashlyn

I'm Ashlyn Reeves and I live in Alvin, TX. I graduated from Conroe High School in 2014.  I am now  Sr. at Sam Houston State University where  I major in Victim studies and minor in human services. I  was honored on the Dean's List in 2016 & 2017. I will graduate with my  BS in Victim Studies in spring 2018 and plan to continue with my masters eventually becoming a counselor specializing in childhood trauma.  I started showing dogs when I was 8 years old in 4-H and became active in AKC. I had good mentors in AKC and no so good mentors, you lean equally from both, who you are ,and who want to become  vs. who you do not. The breed I started with in 4-H was  Pembroke Welsh Corgi and this gave me a good dog to learn with. When I graduated and moved into my own home I decided I wanted to show and breed Australian Shepherds, and am the  proud owner of Life Time Kennels. We show in AKC conformation, obedience, rally, and agility, and have titles on our dogs in several of these areas.  I also co-own / co-breed the malamutes with my Aunt and Uncle. I enjoy being able to show all different breeds  but I do not professional handle currently. I enjoy having by Owner Handler statues and  don't want to give that up. In addition with work and school I just don't have the time to dedicate to that.

I started showing animal's when I was 7, my older sister Ashlyn taught me how to show horses and soon started teaching me how to show dogs in 4-H and AKC. As I got older I became more competitive and started showing cattle after I calf scrambled at Montgomery county fair. As a senior in high school I was awarded fair and rodeo queen in San Jacinto county. To this day I still continue working with horses, cattle and dogs, I hope to one day have a kennel and a ranch of my own.
